DLink
Intcomex SKU: NW211DLN55
Part number: DGS-3200-16
Product description
The DGS-3200-16 Security Gigabit Switches offer a new generation of intelligence and defense delivered through their high-performance, flexible, and robust security. This switch secures the network from viruses using the ACL, IMPB (IP-MAC Port Binding) and SafeGuard Engine functions. The DGS-3200-16 comes with smart fan feature that has heat sensors and a fan that maintains the temperature of the device for optimum performance. To minimize noise reduction, the fan is switches off by default. The DGS-3200-16, compared to any other model, is ideal for an office environment or circumstances that require silence.
Product features
  • Comprehensive security
The DGS-3200 series offers a complete list of endpoint security features to add confidence and assurance towards your network. It executes firm network security and comes with user-based identity control by implementing host-based 802.1x authentication/authorization, along with clientless Web-based Access Control (WAC) and MAC-based Access Control (MAC) for easy deployment. The incorporation of sophisticated ACL user-defined functionality secures the internal IT network against viruses and worms from invading the LAN to provide better security. Innovative IP-MAC-Port Binding prevents ARP spoofing and man-in-middle attacks by disabling users from manually configuring their own IP or MAC address, and allowing administrators to assure that the IP information on the syslog server or firewall log is correct. Other security features like port security and traffic segmentation provide granular control to business environments, allowing administrators to enhance network security. D-Link's joint security provides admission control and real-time defense through Microsoft's NAP (Network Access Protection) and D-Link's ZoneDefense respectively. D-Link's built-in ZoneDefense technology allows businesses to integrate their switch with D-Link's NetDefend firewall to implement full coverage and proactive security architecture.
  • IPv6 technology
D-Link's DGS-3200 series embraces Microsoft Network Access Protection (NAP) which supports both IPv4 and IPv6 protocol versions. NAP is a policy enforcement technology that allows customers to better protect network assets from unhealthy computers by enforcing compliance with network health policies. The IPv6 multicast host, the latest in protocol technology, enables maximum hardware performance. Features such as MLD snooping enhance efficiency in selective distribution by forwarding multicast data to ports that receive data, rather than flooding all ports in a VLAN. Features such as ACL based on IPv6 flow label and traffic class, as well as QoS-based on IPv6 help provide faster and an efficient service. Under IPv6 management, they support web, Telnet and SNMP over IPv6.
  • Resilience/performance enhancement
To enhance network resilience, the DGS-3200 series provides spanning tree protocols including 802.1D, 802.1w, and 802.1s for redundant bridge paths. 802.3ad Link Aggregation provides aggregated bandwidth between switches or servers to increase redundancy for higher availability. Quality of Service (QoS) incorporates multilayer function that supports 8 queues including 802.1p priority and packet classification based on TOS, DSCP, MAC, IP, VLAN ID and L4 TCP/UDP ports enabling Internet voice, video and streaming media applications to run smoothly. The DGS-3200 series also provides a Safeguard Engine for network protection to increase switch's reliability, serviceability and availability.
  • Traffic control
Network administrators can define throughput levels for each port to allocate its essential bandwidth. Broadcast storm control and flow-based bandwidth control can reduce the level of damage from virus attacks or P2P applications to the network.
  • Single IP management
The DGS-3200 series simplifies and speeds up your management tasks as multiple switches can be configured, monitored and maintained from any workstation running a web browser through one unique IP address. This virtual stack is managed as a single object, having all units maintained by one IP address.
  • Manageability
The DGS-3200 series supports standard-based management protocols such as SNMP, RMON, Telnet, Console, web GUI and SSH/SSL security authentication.
